Hello Survivors,
We’ve got a massive update (v2.0.0) landing this March, and we’re going to be 100% honest with you: this one is a bit of a shock to the system.
We’ve spent the last few months looking at the "legacy" parts of the game—the things that felt hollow, confusing, or just plain didn't work—and we decided to stop patching them and start rebuilding them.
The result is an update so big that it might honestly feel like a brand-new game at first. We know some of you are going to love the fresh air, and some of you are probably going to hate that your old routines are changing. We hear you and we gave it a deep thought. Our goal isn't just to add "more stuff," but to finally turn the game into the polished, deep fun experience we always wanted it to be.
Idle Outpost always had two sides—trading and fighting. In the past, it was mostly about the trade. Now, we are balancing the scale. We’ve built this to be a 3-YEAR journey with a massive world.
Here is how we’re changing the game:
13 New Locations 🗺️
Probably the most expected part of the update. You heard it right, not 1 not 2 not 3, not 5, not even 10, but 13 NEW LOCATIONS! It’s been a VERY long time coming, and we’re finally going all out to give you all in one go!
The Trade Side: Library & Herbs 🌿📚
Trading is no longer just about hoarding cash; it’s the engine that supports your expansion. We are introducing the Library and Herbs—a brand-new ecosystem to boost your profits and metrics. These aren't just extra menus; they are essential tools you'll need to master to fund your progress through all those new locations.
The Combat Side: Drones & Pets 🛸🐾
To handle the undead while you're out looting and trading, you need better backup.
- Drones: We are officially replacing the old flags with Drones. These are a brand-new system and a core part of your mission success. If you want the best results, you'll need them in the air.
- Pets: We’ve gutted the old system entirely. They have a brand-new look, but more importantly: they finally join the fight in a meaningful way. They’ll be right beside you, helping you tear through zombies so you can focus on the trade.
- Tactical Gear & Rarities: Tactical items were confusing and sometimes felt like they weren't working. We’ve reworked them, so it's intuitive and impactful. Alongside that, Rarities actually matter now. Each tier now has a massive, visible impact on the game—no more "hollow" legendary boosts.
Alongside all these additions, we have a new Class Specialization system. A new way for you to affect the game and decide what matters to you in your gameplay!
This is a "rip the band-aid off" moment. Because everything has changed—from the drones and pets to the gear and pacing—the entire balance of the game has been totally refreshed. It might feel like a new game, but it's just the version of Idle Outpost we've always wanted to build.
